Earlier in the year, we shared the incredible RMIT Garden Building as a part of their New Academic Street (NAS) project. This building represents innovation in mass-timber construction, having used a ‘post & beam’ 6m grid to showcase timber at its finest.
Recognised for its excellence in design, the RMIT NAS project won an amazing 6 awards at the prestigious 2018 Victorian Architecture Awards. Their winning categories:
Congratulations to the entire RMIT design team – Lyons, MvS Architects, NMBW Architects, Harrison White, Maddison Architects and Taylor Cullity Leathlen. Read about the entire RMIT Garden Building here.
Through ASH partners VicBeam and TGA Engineers, ASH supplied the timber for the Garden Building’s glue-laminated posts and beams. Find out why Victorian ash is the perfect hardwood for mass timber.
