Glacial Oak is ASH’s brand of American Oak, handpicked by region and colour, graded and packed to meet Australian manufacturer’s requirements. Processed in Victoria, Glacial Oak is a stunning and sustainable hardwood and is a superior alternative to the now unavailable Victorian Ash.

Crown cut and beautifully blonde in appearance, Glacial Oak is recommended for many applications including staircase components, lining, furniture and joinery, benchtops and panels, windows and doors, solid flooring and DAR and sawn. We’ll provide a raw, uncoated sample giving you a true appreciation for the natural timber.

Australian Oak is ASH’s brand of Tasmanian Oak timber. As a strong and stable hardwood, Australian Oak offers great workability due to its high sanding and gluing potential.

Quarter sawn to ensure optimal stability, Australian Oak is cut perfectly straight. Used in our mass timber solution, MASSLAM, and suitable for a range of interior applications like furniture and joinery, staircase components, benchtops, flooring and lining. Designed to match our externally treated IronAsh timber to provide a seamless transition from inside to out.

IronOak is ASH’s Glacial Oak timber with the addition of a durable H3 water-based treatment making it ideal for exterior applications. Designed to match our internal Glacial Oak range, meaning you can achieve consistency and flow of design from inside to out. IronOak is available in a variety of cladding, batten and screening profiles and comes with a 25-year warranty.

We’ll provide an uncoated sample giving you a true appreciation for the natural timber which can easily be stained or painted on site (the H3 treatment does not affect the colour of the timber).

MASSLAM 45 is ASH’s brand of glue laminated (GLT) mass timber systems including columns, beams and floors.

Manufactured specifically for large-scale commercial construction projects. MASSLAM 45 uses Australian Oak due to the high strength-to-weight ratios compared to timbers worldwide. The only glue-laminated timber in Australia to hold EWPAA certification.

Suitable applications:

• Mass timber columns
• Mass timbe beams
• Timber/concrete composite floors (ATC)
• Parallel laminated timber
• Mass timber stairs

These samples are cross sections of a typical mass timber column or beam, intended to provide an accurate representation of the appearance and scale of these elements. As such, they are substantial in size and weight, and generally reserved for architects and building firms working on commercial, large-scale developments. Manufactured predominately for large-scale domestic and commercial construction projects. MASSLAM 38 uses Plantation Oak due to their high strength-to-weight ratios compared to timbers worldwide. The only glue-laminated timber in Australia to hold EWPAA certification.
