Located in Yarraville, this chic cottage has recently undergone a major face lift to transform into the perfect inner-city home. The use of modern, affordable products created a stylish, contemporary space for one Melbourne family.
The complete restoration was completed by BCT group and Biggin&Scott. BCT Group is a family-owned building company operating in Melbourne’s inner west that is ‘driven by a passion to create a company where the focus is on building respectful and transparent relationships with clients’. The property was managed and is to be sold by Biggin&Scott – one of Melbourne’s leading real estate agencies established in 1890.
Purchased in its original condition 2 years ago, this Yarraville property was in need of a complete makeover. Eliza Tomasino from Biggin&Scott added “the home was a 2 bedroom and 1 bathroom blank canvas which was re-furbished to a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom extension with ceilings of up to 5.2m high”. Black, white and timber was the palette of choice to transform the space, utilising modern lighting, furniture and hardware to further enhance the fresh ambience.
Australian Oak engineered flooring was installed throughout the entire home – the project team specified feature grade because they loved the character that gum vein, knots and worm holes provide. Eliza further explained “we chose the Australian Oak floor mainly because we loved the look of it. Being an engineered floor, we enjoyed the convenience of it arriving pre-finished, making it easy to lay for a fast-paced job like this one”.
Australian Oak engineered timber flooring is the combination of a beautiful hardwood floor, a hear-wearing LED hardwax coating and a super stable substrate.
