The Space

The University of Tasmania’s “The Shed” is the first project to utilise mass engineered timber made from Tasmanian-grown Plantation Oak (Shining Gum), marking a significant milestone in Australian sustainable construction. Featuring MASSLAM 38, the facility sets a new benchmark for educational infrastructure by transforming plantation fibre traditionally destined for woodchips or export into a high-value, locally manufactured mass timber solution.
