“The brief for Melville Road was to create a practical and modern [staircase] using a durable and economical hardwood”
Blonde, functional and durable. Everything that encompasses the staircase in this Melville Road residence. Forming a connection between the two levels of the home is a muted palette consisting of blonde timbers, subtle monochrome hardware and solid white walls.
The space was brought to life by Staircase Constructions, a Geelong-based staircase manufacturer that prides themselves on working “collaboratively to make the most of design, materials and budget for the best outcome for each project”. The team at Staircase Constructions are experts in providing customers with exactly what they envision and possess an extensive portfolio of projects ranging from residential to large commercial spaces in a wide variety of décor styles.
ASH’s brand of American Oak – Glacial Oak – was used for the staircase, which was matched with European Oak engineered flooring, an ideal pairing for their deep blonde tones and similar grain appearances.
Glacial Oak is blonde, crown cut and select grade, making it arguably the market’s best appearance grade timber. Available in a full suite of staircase components, Glacial Oak is supplied straight line cut, fault docked, packed to set dimensions in small and affordable packs to allow staircase manufacturers to focus on cost efficiently when building and installing stairs.
