“Lyndoch Living…offer a primary medical facility, which will facilitate multiple healthcare services including, but not limited to pharmacy, dental, pathology, radiology and mental health”

Designed to make community health and wellness services accessible for the south west region of Victoria, the Lyndoch Primary Care Centre in Warrnambool is a new healthcare precinct which includes a GP Practice, Pharmacy, Pathology and a dental clinic.

Brought to life by the team at Marchese Partners | Life 3A alongside Nicholson Construction, the Lyndoch Primary Care Centre was completed in late 2022. The new centre displays a natural palette combined with practical products like hard-wearing carpet and durable finishes in order to provide leading healthcare services in a functional yet captivating space.

At the forefront of the design is the use of mass timber, a modern construction method that aids in providing a healthy environment for its occupants through its biophilic properties. The natural palette showcases a number of 420×420 MASSLAM45 components made using PEFC certified Victorian ash. MASSLAM is ASH’s range of glue-laminated timber systems (including columns, beams and floors); intended for commercial and large domestic structures; designed and manufactured for assembly that is grown, owned and produced in Victoria.

Available in a variety of Australian timbers, the attractive glue-laminated timber solution has many benefits, one in particular is its ‘seen structural’ capabilities which allows MASSLAM components to be left uncovered and incorporated into the design.

“The Lyndoch Living Project is a testament to the use of mass timber and the positive impact it can have on good mental health for people in our aging population residential care infrastructure. The choice of design was supported by Dementia Australia as an excellent material to support residential care developments in Australia”
