The Space

The ultimate treehouse fit with blonde Victorian ash joinery.

HUNTING FOR GEORGE

“The small interior has high ceilings that create a more spacious feel. The simple palette of white paint, travertine tiles, and Victorian ash cabinetry create an airy setting that reflects the light coming in from all angles. ”

Nestled on the block of a beautiful late-Victorian home is this self-contained flat, acting as the perfect backdrop for a magnificent Camphor Laurel tree. Above the garage where the open space apartment is located, contains a full sized kitchen, separate bedroom and ensuite, made all the more spacious with high pitched ceilings.

Hatched by the talented team by Bones Studio and built in 2020, Woollahra Treehouse is the combination of simple, quality materials specified for longevity. Established in 2015, Bones Studio prioritises ‘creativity and collaboration, anchored by commercial sensibility’ – an accurate reflection of their past project library.

The palette consists of just three materials; white paint, travertine tiles, and Victorian ash cabinetry. Accompanying is a large picture window to showcase the tree canopy, whilst maintaining privacy from passing foot traffic. Dressed Victorian ash and veneer is seen throughout the unit, used for the kitchen cabinetry and matching joinery.

Like Bones Studio have done here, choose to mix and match GoodWood Victorian ash across a multitude of applications like furniture, joinery, veneer, staircases, flooring, benchtops, windows and doors, lining and custom profiles. Other timber options include American Oak by ASH, Tasmanian Oak and Plantation Oak.

BONES STUDIO

“Victorian ash timber features throughout the interior, selected for its warm yet light tone and subtle grain. It also beautifully complements the natural travertine flooring.”
