STUDIO ATELIER FOR SPREADING ROOMERS
“It’s important to strike the right balance between functionality, how one space flows into the other, ceiling heights and volumes, whilst also taking into account things like bringing in natural light, cross flow ventilation and how the spaces connect to the outdoors.”
Situated in the suburb of Mount Hawthorn, Mounsey House explores the combination of heritage and contemporary design to create an authentic modern day home. The revamped space showcases natural materials, textures and colours that work together to create a place of calming escape.
The concept was brought to life by Studio Atelier, who started as a husband and wife duo designing their very own project and has now evolved into a renowned architecture practice with a unique and personalised approach to design. Each space throughout this clean, contemporary and light filled abode is carefully curated to balance both functionality and beauty. Natural finishes, concrete detailing and blockwork add depth and warmth to this relaxed and welcoming family home.
At the forefront of the design is a connection between indoor and outdoor living, the internal space opens out to a luscious courtyard with an alfresco area and circular pool. Although located within a suburban setting, the design explores the relationship between built and natural by embracing elements of the landscape.
Clean lines and rich textures made of blockwork and a warm IronAsh shiplap cladding embellish the exterior. IronAsh is our range of H3 treated Victorian ash which can be used externally due to it’s ability to withstand harsh external conditions. IronAsh uses innovative technology to penetrate an invisible, water-based treatment deep into it’s core and comes with a 25 year guarantee so you can rest assured that you’re getting the very best in quality and performance.
